In a maternity test, usually all three parties are tested: the alleged mother, the child, and biological father. The father’s participation in the maternity test is not mandatory but helps to exclude half of the child’s DNA, leaving the rest for comparison with the alleged mother. If the father is not available, a fatherless test can be performed, without additional charge.
The average turnaround for results is three (3) business days from receipt of all samples. (two (2) business day and NEXT business day options are available).
Maternity test results may be used in the following circumstances:
• If an adoptee wants to confirm who the actual birth mother is.
• In Immigration cases to prove biological relationships.
• In vitro fertilization to prove that the correct embryo was implanted.
• If there was a possible baby mix-up at the hospital.
